A quiet neighborhood where most of the residents are enjoying their golden years.

That is how Steve Skalandis, 24, would describe his Grand Rapids street of modest ranch homes near Three Mile Road and Plainfield Avenue NE.

He never knew the house up the road -- in the 900 block of Kendalwood St. NE -- was producing illegal drugs, which was shut down by the Kent County Sheriff's Department.
